Startup Athletics Releases its 2016 D1 Men’s Lacrosse Participation Data
With the recent growth of Lacrosse it is clear now more than ever that the expansion of the game is not slowing down. Whether it's the newly formed MLL teams, the increased broadcast schedule on ESPN, or the World Series of youth lacrosse you cannot help but wonder how big the sport will get in the near future.
As our platform caters to the search of youth lacrosse programs on a local, regional, and national scale it was not only important for us to learn what areas are emerging, but to also understand how big the traditional hotbeds are.
And although the annual US lacrosse participation survey provides information on how many players participate as a whole, we wanted to learn who was producing the best, and where were they coming from.
To help us understand this we decided to turn our attention to the rosters of Division One Mens Lacrosse. Through recording the state of every division one player we were not only able to measure how many players each state produced, but also a breakdown of each regions strength.
With the above in mind we hope you enjoy our D1 Men’s Lacrosse Participation Data included below. Be sure to check out our weekly Top 10 Regional Breakdown for information on where schools are recruiting, and how they stack up against the competition.
